Services held for HHS student

HOPE – Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 24, for Hope High School student Aldair Leyva, 17, who passed away after a traffic accident on December 22 in Hope.

Aldair was born November 20, 1999, in Hope, the son of Israel and Maria Villa Gomez Leyva. He was a student at Hope High School and was employed at Taco Bell in Hope.

His maternal grandfather, Jose Luis Villa Gomez, and paternal grandmother, Cleotilde Rivera, passed prior to him.

He is survived by his parents, Israel and Maria Villa Gomez Leyva, of Hope; two sisters, Emily and Allyn Leyva; a nephew, Kayden Leyva; maternal grandmother, Felicitas Cuevasa; and, paternal grandfather, Francisco Leyva.

Visitation was held Friday, December 23, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home. Services were conducted Saturday, December 24, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home in Hope.
