Bobcat Calendar, Nov. 11-15

Nov. 11 – Veterans Day celebration, Hempstead Hall, 11 a.m.

Nov. 12 – Hope Public Schools Parent Ambassadors, 6 p.m., Hope High School cafeteria.

Nov. 15 – Hope Academy of Public Service Senior Citizens’ Night at Fair Park, 6-9 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to the Hope High School Botcats Robotics Team for its fifth-place finish at the 2019 BEST Robotics Competition in Little Rock. The team also won the Most Robust Robot award and won third in Spirit and Sportsmanship. Team members included Yovana Martinez, Zoltin Dellosso, Jadora Rivera, Timothy Rowe, Samantha Bailey, Jacob Gunn, Cole Ayers and Dale Coleman. HHS teacher Kathy Knight is the team coach, and Val Knight and Chad Ayers are team mentors. Thanks also goes out to the Hope Kiwanis Club for financial support.

Congratulations to the Hope High School Bobcat Marching Band for its performance at the state marching competition in Little Rock. The band placed 12th among bands in Class 5A across the state with a score of 74.32.

Artists in Residence from the Arts in Education partnership between the Hope Public Schools and Southwest Arkansas Arts Council through the Arkansas Arts Council are on HPS campuses this year. Noted airbrush artist Norris Chee conducted a week-long class for students at Hope High School in October, while artist Mary Overton returns to Beryl Henry Elementary School for a week and artist Sue Pico will teach special classes at Yerger Middle School in November.

Hope Public Schools has its own internet App which can be accessed on any of the HPS websites at www.hpsdistrict.org online; then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the app store icon on the right side of the page. Users have direct access to campus and district news, announcements and calendars, as well as a directory of district faculty and staff, and other useful information.

Campus food and needs pantries are now open to provide snacks and after-school needs for Hope Public Schools students on an as needed basis. Donations of recommended food and needs items will be accepted on each campus of the Hope Public School District. Contact campus offices for more information.
