Bobcat Calendar, Dec. 2-6

Dec. 2 – Classes resume on all campuses after Thanksgiving break.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Congratulations to Hope High School, Beryl Henry Elementary School, Yerger Middle School and Hope Academy of Public Service for “Beating the Odds” in academic growth on the ACT Aspire test. All four campuses were recognized by the University of Arkansas Office for Education Policy. HHS was third among high schools in Southwest Arkansas in English Language Arts growth and fourth in the region in math growth. BHE and Yerger were among the Top 10 middle schools in Arkansas for overall growth in combined ELA and math scores. BHE also ranked No. 1 statewide and in the region and Yerger No. 2 statewide and in the region in ELA growth. Yerger also ranked fifth regionally in math growth, and HAPS ranked fourth regionally in ELA growth.

Congratulations to Ms. Cole’s fourth grade class at Clinton Primary School for collecting the most canned goods for the recent canned food drive. The class collected 218 items among the 1,021 canned food items contributed by teachers and students to benefit Hope In Action.

Bobcat Clinic medical services provider Cabun Rural Health Services, Inc. advises CABUN patients who have recently received a bill from the company to disregard the invoice, according to Bobcat Clinic Director Gretchen Carlton and information issued by the company Nov. 19. The company asks patients to contact their local CABUN clinic for guidance.

Parents should note that student organizations and campus holiday fundraisers are currently ongoing in the Hope Public Schools. The Hope High School Ladycat softball team is selling Farmhouse Candles for $15 each with four different tags and four different scents from which to choose. Contact Jennifer Robbins or any Ladycat team member for order information. Hope FFA fruit boxes are expected to arrive for delivery in the first or second week of December. Any outstanding payments should be made by contacting FFA sponsor Christina Smith at 870-397-2341 during school hours.

The Hope Public Schools, in association with Farmer’s Bank and Trust, participates in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program in Hempstead County. The program offers free books to children aged newborn through five years who enroll through the Hope Public Schools. Call 777-2251 for additional information.
