With less than two months to complete their project to construct a working robot for a national competition at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the Hope High School Robotics Team gave the Hope Lions Club a demonstration Monday of the complexity involved in a simple project such as “Bob Claw,” the team’s third-place winning robot from the Riceland Invitational last fall. Team members Ben Knight and Gervon Pennington, using the frame for the Little Rock competition robot, explained that the contest will require much more in the way of robot dynamics and engineering. The team is mentored by HHS teachers Mark Reed and Tina Nicholson. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
