Parents sought for 'Two-Hour Pledge'

HOPE – The Beryl Henry Elementary School Parent/Teacher Organization is seeking parents willing to commit two hours of their time to the PTO.\r\n

\r\n

“If we can get every Beryl Henry parent to commit just two hours to helping out this school year, together we can do amazing things for our kids and our school,” PTO Organizer Inell Thornton said in a letter to parents.\r\n

\r\n

Thornton said some parents have the flexibility to be deeply involved, but other parents are needed, as well.\r\n

\r\n

“We’re grateful for those who can do that,” she said. “But the Two-Hour Power volunteer pledge program emphasizes that any and all help makes a huge difference for schools.”\r\n

\r\n

Thornton said the cumulative impact of “Two-Hour Power” parents can be significant.\r\n

\r\n

“Throughout the year, we’ll have lots of ways to pitch in for short spurts,” she said.\r\n

\r\n

Parents are asked to complete a simple survey of interests to allow the PTO to match parents to needs more effectively.\r\n

\r\n

“We’ll gladly work with you to find a way that you can help,” Thornton said. “Involvement is for everyone.”\r\n

\r\n

Interested parents should fill out the survey and a “Two-Hour Power” pledge card and return both to BHE with their child, she said.\r\n

\r\n

“We’ll be in touch with opportunities that fit your interests and availability,” Thornton said.\r\n

\r\n

Questions or concerns should be directed to Thornton at Inell.thornton@hpsdistrict.org online, or by calling 870-777-8057.\r\n
