Hope High School senior students who have reached their 18th birthdate, or will do so prior to May 22, were instructed in registering to vote by a team from the Texarkana regional chapter of Delta Sigma Theta social service sorority. The team has conducted similar voter education programs across the chapter region, including Lewisville, Ashdown, Texarkana, Texas, and DeQueen. Local team members included Alice Straughter, Margaret Moss, Terri Turner, and Ermer Pondexter. Preferential primary elections in Arkansas will be conducted May 22, with general mid-term elections in November. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools\r\n
