HOPE – The Hope High School Bobcat boys and girls golf teams split match play against teams from DeQueen and Camden-Fairview this week, with Hope girls’ Sydney Watson taking medalist honors.

Matched against DeQueen, the HHS girls brought in a total round for the Bobcats of 300, with Watson shooting 95 for the match, followed by Natalie Phillips with 99 and Tia Corbett at 106 for the day. That put the Hope girls 14 strokes under DeQueen, which finished at 314, its girls’ round low shot by Randee Toye at 96.

The Hope boys brought in a combined round of 363, with Dalton Kenworthy shooting 118 on the day, followed by Ben Knight at 121 and Kobe Watson with 124.

The low trio for DeQueen included boys’ medalist Bailey Branson at 83, followed by Hadley Philamlee with a 97 and Nathan Hodges at 100, for a three-man total of 280. Combined with a 102 for Cody Lites and a 105 for Jared Hickson, DeQueen shot 372 for the team total on the day.

The Camden-Fairview boys shot a team total of 401, with Jameson Milner and Mason Furlow both hitting a 97, followed by Kurt Collins at 100, Shane Collins at 107 and Chad Sponer with a 118. The three-man low for Camden-Fairview was 294.

The CF boys’ junior varsity of Hunter Morgan, Hayden Bradshaw and Cody Griffin totaled 262 with an incomplete round by Morgan.

The Camden-Fairview girls did not compete.
