HOPE – Blazing their way across the Hope Country Club course, the Hope High School Bobcat Girls’ Golf Team won the 5A South Conference title.

Shooting a cumulative 282 over the 18-hole match course, Natalie Phillips, Tia Corbett and Sydney Watson outmatched the nearest competition from Magnolia by eight strokes in the Sept 21 tournament.

Phillips shot an 88 for the course, with Corbett and Watson both scoring 97 over the 18 holes. All three were named all-conference and will advance to state play in Hot Springs on Wednesday.

Magnolia placed second in the girls’ tournament with a 290, placing Katie Collier on the all-conference team with a 91 for the day.

Medalist for the girls’ tournament was Gracen Blount of Lakeside High School, who shot a 79 on the day and was named all-conference. Lakeside shot a team score of 311 on the day to place third.

Fourth place went to DeQueen High School at 320 and fifth place went to White Hall High School with a 365 team score on the day.

The HHS boys team of Dalton Kenworthy, Ben Knight, and Kobe Watson placed sixth with a cumulative 369 on the day.

Lakeside won the boys’ tournament with a 303 on the day, followed by White Hall at 320 and Magnolia at 333. Grayson Martin of White Hall was boys medalist with a round of 71.
