Tiffena Pierce, regional point social worker for DaVita Dialysis in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, will be the special guest of the student body at the Hope Academy of Public Service on Thursday. Pierce will speak on breast cancer as a survivor of the disease, who was diagnosed in 2015 and has undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery since. She was given a clear prognosis in June. Pierce, holds a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington; and, is currently a doctoral candidate. She is to be recognized in April, 2017, as Regional Social Worker for Region 2 by the National Kidney Foundation Council of Nephrology Social Workers.
