Waffles vs. Burritos

Breakfast offerings at Hope High School got a new "wrinkle," so to speak, Tuesday in the first of two proposed additions to the morning menu. A "build your own waffle" option was taste-tested Tuesday, and a “build your own breakfast burrito” option was tested on Thursday, according to HHS Principal Bill Hoglund. Cafeteria staff said the waffle offering was quickly depleted, and the consensus among both male and female students appeared favorable. The breakfast burrito? Not so much. Students appeared willing to try the idea, but many found the large flour tortilla too cumbersome, and chose to eat the scrambled eggs and sausage as an entrée. And, many avoided the traditional burrito veggies and sauce. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools
