HOPE – Four senior students and 11 junior students were inducted into the Hope High School chapter of the National Honor Society in ceremonies conducted at HHS on Wednesday.
\r\nPresenting the inductees was NHS chapter president Allysa Fincher, who said the NHS is recognized as the premier high school student academic scholarship organization in the nation.\r\n
\r\nFincher said the organization is based upon four pillars which stem from the foundation of knowledge, including scholarship, service, leadership and character.\r\n
\r\nShe said the NHS fosters an enthusiasm for scholarship, a desire to render service, promotion of student leadership and character development among high school students as its key purposes.\r\n
\r\n“These are the best that we have,” HHS Principal Bill Hoglund told the induction gathering. “I believe in you.”\r\n
\r\nHoglund said the process of applying for NHS membership alone demonstrates the organization’s key tenets. The induction ceremonies concluded with a reception in the HHS library for families and students.\r\n
\r\nNHS faculty sponsor Jill Self reflected upon the occasion.\r\n
\r\n“I’ve been very fortunate to have a great group of students to work with, and today we added 15 more,” Self said.\r\n
\r\nNew inductees introduced during the ceremonies in the HHS auditorium included Daisy Aguilar, Jesse Allen, Britney Alvarado, Antwone Casteel, Audrianna Collins, Jacqueline Culley, Genesis Curtis, Natzari Felipe, Skylar Hawthorne, Jared McKamie, Miyaunna Purifoy, Shardae Reynolds, Kathy Rogel, Christopher Torres, and Jordyne Weston.\r\n
