HHS teams win SAU math contest

Two teams of sophomore math students from Hope High School took first and third place in the recent Southern Arkansas University “Math in the Picture” contest. The competition requires students to create a poster presentation that explains the mathematics involved in the action or scene of a photo of their choosing. First place winners Dabria Manton and Charitie Phillips explained the geometry of gymnastics, while third place winners Brandon Gallegos and Enrique Solis presented the geometric relationships within a circle. The winners are all students of HHS math teacher Ian Canales. – Ken McLemore/Hope Public Schools\r\n
