Cadets from the Hope High School unit of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps participated in parade activities in Texarkana during the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. Color guard duties were performed by Cadet Captain Alan Martinez, Cadet 1st Lieutenant Alayshia Lewis, Cadet Airman Gaburla Bautista and Cadet Master Sergeant Lizbeth Carrillo. Detachment banner unit was Cadet Jacob Petit and Cadet Joshua Smith. Flight Commander was Cadet Captain Brittany Alvarado, and Flight members included Cadet Mason Drake, Cadet Ashanti Bennett, Cadet Brianna Rodruguez, and Cadet Major Jacqueline Culley. Second element participants were cadet Christian Lewis, Cadet Bryan Morris, Cadet Keisha McDonald, and Cadet Vernice Leyva. – Hope Public Schools
