AFJROTC Command Changes

An eleventh grade Hope High School student who is a three-year member of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit at HHS assumed command of the school’s unit in recent ceremonies.\r\n

Cadet Captain Britney Rodriguez received the AR-20101 standard from Command Presiding Officer Lt. Col. (Ret.) Mark S. Hart in ceremonies in the Hope High School auditorium.\r\n

\r\n

Col. Hart emphasized the opportunities afforded each cadet in AFJROTC in a charge to the unit that reflected upon the loyalty, commitment, and trust through professionalism in unit service which the program offers.\r\n

\r\n

“Legendary coach Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant said, ‘If you believe in yourself, and have dedication and pride; and, never quit, you’ll be a winner,’” Hart said. “’The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.’”\r\n

\r\n

Outgoing Cadet Commander Cadet/Major Alan Martinez was formally promoted to his new rank during the ceremonies. A senior at HHS, CM Martinez is a three-year member of AFJROTC. He retired from command after thanking the HHS unit for the opportunity to lead, and their support given to him.\r\n

\r\n

Incoming Cadet Commander Cadet/Captain Rodriguez, also a three-year AFJROTC member, outlined her primary goal for the unit to lead AR-20101 to a passing grade on the 2019-2020 Air Force Higher Headquarters Inspection.\r\n

\r\n

Colors were presented by AR-20101 Color Guard Cadets Alaysia Lewis, Bradley Kellar, Michael Magee, and Joshua Johnson. Cadet/2nd Lt. Braina Rodriguez served as Master of Ceremonies, and Cadet/MSgt. Michael Magee offered the invocation.\r\n
