Farmers Bank offers WiFi to schools

HOPE – Hope Public Schools students will have the opportunity to access internet WiFi to continue their studies through Farmers Bank and Trust during the closure of public schools in Arkansas resulting from the COVID-19 illness.

FBT CEO Chris Gosnell said in a press release issued April 8 the bank is making similar arrangements at all of its Arkansas main branch facilities beginning April 9 through May 31.

“As a community bank with a giving mission to help further education in our footprint, we recognized a need to provide WIFI to local students and families,” Gosnell said. “We are constantly looking for ways to help our communities during this time, and I applaud our team for setting up this service promptly and look forward to assisting local families during this difficult time.”

The bank will provide the service locally at its 201 E. Third St. branch parking lot. Students should select the SSID “FBT Student Network” and log in under the email address student@myfarmers.bank online with the password MyFarmers2020.

Assistance is available by calling 855-855-3268.

Hope Schools Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart expressed his appreciation for the service.

“This is another great example of the commitment to community from Farmers Bank and Trust,” Dr. Hart said. “On behalf of the Hope Public Schools, thanks.”

Access will be available only from the parking lot of the bank’s facility, since FBT has modified its lobby hours and services at all locations until further notice as a result of the COVID-19 illness. Students are asked to stay in their vehicles while accessing WiFi services.

WiFi access in Hope is available only at the Third Street main branch since the Hope South branch is closed at this time.
