Viney Johnson Public Statement
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we report that Mrs. Viney Johnson, school board member, has passed away. Mrs. Johnson’s impact on the community went far beyond Hope Public Schools, and her legacy will be one of steadfastness and love.
The district and her personal family are still in the early stages of grief. Please pray for comfort during this most difficult time.
First elected to the board in September, 1989, Mrs. Johnson served continuously since then, and, in 2019, was honored by the Arkansas School Boards Association for her 30 years of service to public education in Arkansas.
