dyslexia month

What do Orlando Bloom, Walt Disney, Keira Knightly and Albert Einstein all have in common? They’re all dyslexics.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, so we thought we would let you know what the HPS Dyslexia Team has been working on.

Each campus will have a dyslexia information station set up with resources about dyslexia for educators, parents, and students. At each station there will be book recommendations, warning signs, general facts/statistics, as well as a QR code that is linked to additional information concerning dyslexia.

Pictured are tri-fold boards located on each campus, as well as a bulletin board representing some of the many gifts and talents that our kiddos with dyslexia possess. When given the theme "Uniquely You" for Dyslexia Awareness Month 2023, our CPS dyslexia students created handprints that represented their individual uniqueness. These handprints are the border of our Dyslexia Awareness Bulletin Board, located at CPS (shown in bottom photo).
