Students from Clinton Primary and Beryl Henry Elementary took a trip to Texarkana Thursday morning to hear the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra present a "Rock and Roll" experience. The Perot Theater was packed with students, teachers, and parents from school districts in the Ark-La-Tex region. Students from all districts sang along, played recorders, beat drums, and stomped their feet. Students learned about the various instrument families: percussion, woodwinds, brass, and strings during a lively interactive experience.

Among those in the orchestra, Hope Public Schools' Technology Coordinator Jeff Madlock played his double bass. Jeff is a member of the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra.

In the final piece of the morning, students belted out the chorus to “Johnny B Goode” as the orchestra played along.

After returning to Hope, Clinton Primary students were treated to Tailgaters for lunch.
