NPS offers teacher, mom projects

HOPE - The National Parks Service through the William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site has contributed an easy and fun project to the mix of things students can do for teachers and moms as May recognizes both.

Teacher Appreciation Week was celebrated May 4-8 in the Hope Public Schools through virtual connections and shout-outs online, and in the local media; while, Mother’s Day is observed May 10. The NPS May newsletter offers a Teacher Appreciation and a Mother’s Day project for kids, according to NPS Training Specialist Mike Simpson, of the Clinton Birthplace Home in Hope.

The project includes appreciation cards which the student can print from the illustrations accompanying this story to decorate and send or post as a jpeg photo to a teacher and to their mother.

The card features a flower found in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The project is part of the NPS Parks to Kids Day set for May 16.
