Good morning!

\r\n

Today marks the beginning of Teacher Appreciation Week. I could not be more proud of our educators. THANK YOU!

\r\n

In many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed teaching forever. However, one thing has remained the same for HPS educators: unrelenting dedication to students. This is the heart of our district. This is our greatest strength: belief in our kids.

\r\n

Teachers are the largest employee group in HPS. All roles in the District exist to better serve Hope students. No role is more tied to serving the academic and emotional needs of our students than that of teacher. In today's educational climate, teachers are called to be life savers, mentors, role models, therapists, social workers, confidantes, advisors, disciplinarians, and friends. It can be a daunting task, but you do it with grace. You confirm that teaching is more than a job. It is a calling!

\r\n

No matter the grade-level, our teachers show up in big ways. THANK YOU!

\r\n

As a first generation college graduation, I remember the teachers who made me believe in myself. I can still see the faces of the educators who spoke life affirming truth into me. Like many of you, those teachers were trajectory changers. Educators, I pray that you stay encouraged and take some time to reflect on your impact on your students. You matter, and I am so grateful to work with you.

\r\n

THANK YOU!
