Bobcat preseason activities set

HOPE – Media Day begins the Hope High School Bobcat football campaign for the 2019 season here Aug. 9, and an all-athletics student meeting is set for Aug. 12.

Media Day activities begin Friday at 8 a.m. with varsity team photos at Hammons Stadium.

HPSD Co-Athletic Director Susan Powers said all student athletes in grades 7-12 will be required to attend a general athletics meeting Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. Student athletes in all sports must attend the meeting to get information about participation eligibility and complete forms, Powers said.

The Bobcats will run the “spread” on offense, again, this year; and, will use a 4-2-5 defense, Bobcat Head Coach Phillip Turner has said.

The team switched from morning to afternoon practices in late July; and, full preseason camp began Monday, according to Turner.

Season tickets for the 2019 Hope Bobcat varsity football season are on sale at Hope High School. Powers said reserved bench seating is $100 per bench. Reserved seat tickets for home games are $25 each.

General admission tickets will cost $5 at the Hammons Stadium MAC entrance and the 18th Street gate.

The Cats will take on Lake Hamilton in a preseason scrimmage Aug. 27 at Hammons Stadium at 5:30 p.m. for both junior high and high school programs.
