The Hope High School Bobcat Marching Band rehearses in a warm-up area prior to its performance of the 2019 season show “Machine” in statewide competition at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Nov. 5. The Bobcat band come away in 12th place among Class 5A bands statewide, according to HPS Bands Director Julie Gladden. The band received a score of 74.32 for the contest. The performance represents the first appearance of the HHS band in statewide competition in a number of years, a goal which Gladden has emphasized. The state contest appearance followed the band’s performance at the South Zone Region II Marching Assessment hosted by Hope on Oct. 22 at Hammons Stadium. – Hope Public Schools
