Open House dates set for HHS

HOPE – Open House prior to the start of classes at Hope High School will be conducted by appointment through four days Aug. 10-13 to accommodate health safety protocols during the COVID-19 crisis, HHS Principal Bill Hoglund said today.

Hoglund said appointments will be scheduled for parent and student during a 3:30-7:30 p.m. window each day.\r\n

\r\n

“Each advisory teacher is responsible for contacting their homeroom students’ parents to arrange appointment times by Aug. 7,” Hoglund said.\r\n

\r\n

He said specific health protocols will be followed, including:\r\n

\r\n

--Masks will be worn at all times during Open House.\r\n

\r\n

--Visitors will be limited to one parent or guardian and one HHS student only.\r\n

\r\n

--All parents and students will be screened with temperature checks at the main entrance to each building.\r\n

\r\n

“We will have staff to assist with the health protocol and student council members to direct you to your student’s homeroom class,” Hoglund said.\r\n

\r\n

Advisory period teachers will distribute Chromebooks and backpacks and provide HHS Handbook forms for parent signatures.\r\n

\r\n

“We are requesting that parents complete Handbook forms on-site,” Hoglund said.\r\n

Classes at HHS are scheduled to begin for the 2020-2021 academic year on Aug. 24.\r\n
