The names, accomplishments, records, championships, leadership, and service connected to Bobcat athletics are part of the history of Hope Public Schools — and we want to make sure those stories continue to be recognized.
Nominations are now open for the next Hope Public Schools Athletic Hall of Fame class.
Hope Public Schools brought back the Athletic Hall of Fame during the 2025–2026 school year after the previous induction had taken place in 1992. The return created a renewed opportunity for the district and community to recognize the individuals whose athletic accomplishments and contributions have helped shape generations of Bobcats.
The first class following the Hall of Fame's return included:
C.J. Ellis
Jami Godwin
Jaidyn Simington
Ronnie Powell
D.D. Holyfield
Ricky Rhodes
Ronald Stuart
Bubba Powers
Randy Wright
Those inductees were celebrated during the 2025–2026 school year as representatives of Bobcat excellence, tradition, leadership, and service.
Now, we need the community's help identifying who should be considered next.
Who Can Be Nominated?
There are three nomination categories.
Student-Athletes
Student-athlete nominees must have demonstrated outstanding athletic performance while attending Hope High School.
Achievements may include All-Conference, All-State, or equivalent recognition at the regional, state, or national level. Special consideration will be given in the modern era, from the 1990s to present, for All-State recognition.
Student-athletes must have graduated at least five years prior to nomination, and their character and conduct during and after high school will also be considered.
Coaches and Administrators
Coaches and administrators may be nominated for making significant and lasting contributions to the athletic programs of Hope Public Schools.
Consideration will be given to their leadership, professional achievements, service to students and the community, and commitment to high ethical and moral standards.
Contributors
The contributor category recognizes individuals or groups whose service, support, or advocacy has made a notable contribution to the success and advancement of Hope Public Schools athletics.
Help Us Preserve Bobcat History
The Athletic Hall of Fame is about more than statistics or championships. It is an opportunity to preserve the people and stories behind Hope Public Schools athletics and ensure that their impact is remembered by future generations of Bobcats.
You may know a former Hope athlete whose accomplishments deserve recognition. You may remember a coach who helped build a program, an administrator whose leadership moved athletics forward, or a supporter whose contributions happened away from the spotlight but made a lasting difference.
We want to hear those names and those stories.
