Retirement reception set for three

HOPE – Three administrative veterans of the Hope Public Schools retiring this month will be honored with a reception Thursday.\r\n

\r\n

Steve Bradshaw, Gail Grant, and Ira Love will be the honorees from 3-5 p.m. Thursday at the Hope Public Schools Administration Building, 117 E. Second St. \r\n

\r\n

The three represent a total of 111 years of experience in the HPS, each of them having been employed for 37 years by the district from 1980.\r\n

\r\n

Bradshaw retires as assistant superintendent for facilities and transportation, having begun as a fifth grade teacher at Beryl Henry Elementary School, before becoming principal at Edith Brown Elementary, Garland Elementary, and Beryl Henry Elementary schools. He became director of transportation for the district in 1997, then assistant superintendent for facilities and transportation in 2011.\r\n

\r\n

Grant has been Bradshaw’s administrative assistant since 2013, having begun her career in the district as administrative secretary at BHE in 1980, before becoming administrative assistant in the Hope High School counselor’s office, prior to moving to Bradshaw’s department.\r\n

\r\n

Love retires as assistant superintendent for federal programs and equity. He taught at Hope High School for 14 years before becoming assistant principal at HHS. Love moved from HHS to the district administration.\r\n
