The Gifted and Talented students were studying Classification of animals. Students were able to learn different characteristics of each group of invertebrates. The group included simple invertebrates, worms, mollusks, arachnids, crustaceans, and Echinoderms. The activity included making an edible invertebrate. Students were asked to name the family, list characteristics and examples. Students had to draw a model of the edible invertebrate. Students were given materials to create the model. Students were instructed to tell how this particular invertebrate would help or harm humans. The gifted students enjoyed the activity.
