HOPE – Based upon policies from the Arkansas Department of Education (Division of Elementary and Secondary Education) regarding COVID-19 impact on schools, Hope Public Schools announced today Clinton Primary School and Hope Academy of Public Service will observe a non-instructional day on Friday, Jan. 14.
\r\nHPS Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley said students at CPS and HAPS will not be involved in any virtual instruction through the remainder of their campus pivot due to COVID-19 this week and teachers will not conduct virtual classes.\r\n
\r\n“We are working under the confines of Arkansas law regarding Alternative Method of Instruction days,” Dr. Crossley said. “Friday will be a non-instructional day for students and a non-working day for staff at CPS and HAPS as a result.”\r\n
\r\nCrossley said the non-instructional day will be accounted for in the school year calendar by foregoing three “early out” days at CPS and HAPS through the remainder of the academic year.\r\n
\r\n“Thank you for your patience as we respond to the pandemic,” he said. “Our goal, first and foremost, is to keep our students and staff safe.”\r\n
\r\nCrossley urged parents to have their students vaccinated utilizing the Bobcat Clinic on the Hope High School campus which is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments may be made by calling 870-722-2733, option 2. Registration forms and a vaccination consent form must be completed prior to appointment time.\r\n

\r\nHome test kits for COVID-19 may be obtained at the Hempstead County Library and the Hempstead County Health Unit.\r\n
