HPS 5-year plan

HOPE, AR - Hope Public Schools will host a 5-Year Plan Community Conversation on January 19, 2023, at 5:30pm, at Hempstead Hall. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

The community conversation will focus on the district’s 5-Year Plan. This includes the $15 Million Magnet Schools Assistance Program grant (MSAP) the district was recently awarded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE). Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley will present plans for implementing the grant’s goals as well as answer questions from the public about the grant.

Dr. Crossley will also discuss other aspects of the district’s 5-year plan including education scholarships funded through the Hope Legacy Endowment Scholarship Foundation. Students graduating from Hope Public Schools will be eligible to receive scholarships to help offset costs associated with either attending college or furthering trade certifications and/or training. Additionally, the superintendent will be promoting Bobcats Work, the workforce development program where juniors and seniors in high school have paid internships in local industry. He will also share plans for expanded extracurricular activities which will provide a variety of after-school and outside-of-school programs in which students may voluntarily take part. These will be interest based and allow students to connect with each other through fun and engaging clubs and groups.

Dr. Crossley's goal is to "make Hope the premiere destination for education in Southwest Arkansas."
