The following article was written by HHS FFA Student Izza Barnett in honor of FFA Teacher Appreciation Week:

For this 2024 FFA week, I was given the opportunity to write the AG teacher impact piece. I have been with these teachers for two years now, except Mr. McCrary as he has joined us just this year. It has been an honor to serve as this chapter's reporter and be a part of so many opportunities I've been able to be a part of. Our wonderful AG teachers Ms. Rodden, Ms, Smith and Mr. McCrary may be pulling out their hair while they have to deal with us, but I know they care for us just the same. Ms. Rodden, a former student of Hope High school and former student of our other Agri teacher Ms. Smith. Ms. Rodden is the one I go to for advice. I feel like she is most of the students' confidants. Personally during especially hard times money wise, Ms. Rodden will always spare a dollar so you can eat breakfast on early competition mornings. Ms. Smith is so kind, and caring towards her students. She is always the life of the party and will brighten up any room she walks into. Any competition we go to she's out and about talking to other agriculture teachers bragging about us. It is quite encouraging to know that your teachers are proud of you. Mr. McCrary, while he has only been with us for a short period of time now he always tries his best to greet you with a smile. He welcomes me with a “Hello Izzy!” anytime I walk through the door. Having someone excited to see you at the end of a long school day is like a breath of fresh air. I could write on and on about my agriculture teachers, but for now I am very thankful, and grateful for the things my teachers have taught me, sacrificed for me, and I couldn't ask for anything more.
