Hope High School student Jair Arroyo recognized as Arkansas recipient of the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award, a national honor for leadership, service, and character.

Hope Public Schools is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by Hope High School student Jair Arroyo, who has been selected as the Arkansas recipient of the prestigious Billy Michal Student Leadership Award.

This national honor, presented by The National WWII Museum, recognizes one student from each state and the District of Columbia who exemplifies the American spirit through leadership, service, character, and commitment to their community.

Jair is among approximately 50 students across the country selected for this distinction, placing him among the top student leaders in the nation.

Recipients of the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award are chosen through a competitive nomination process that evaluates students on their ability to:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership in school and community settings

  • Show a commitment to service and making a positive impact

  • Exhibit character, integrity, and perseverance

  • Contribute meaningfully to their school, community, and beyond

This award highlights students who embody values such as teamwork, creativity, respect for others, and dedication to improving the world around them.

As part of this honor, Jair will travel to New Orleans this June to represent Hope Public Schools and the state of Arkansas at the American Spirit Awards, where he will participate in leadership development experiences and be recognized alongside fellow student leaders from across the country.

Jair’s selection is a direct reflection of his hard work, leadership, and character, as well as the strong culture of student development within Hope Public Schools.

We are incredibly proud of Jair Arroyo for this well-deserved recognition and for representing Hope Public Schools with excellence on a national stage.
