HOPE – The fifth public COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic planned by the Hope Public Schools-ExpressRx partnership is set for April 2 at Hope High School. Vaccinations will be administered at the HHS MAC Complex from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
\r\nRegistration through Express Rx of Hope is required at https://ExpressRxVaccinationAppointments.as.me/1330HopeHigh online. Registration by phone is available at 870-777-4643.\r\n
\r\nPersons without a return email address should use vaccine@expressrx.net as their return email address for registration purposes.\r\n
\r\nCompletion of the COVID-19 Consent Form provided at www.hpsdistrict.org online is also required. A photo ID, insurance card and Medicare card, where applicable, must be presented at the door. Any form of photo ID is acceptable.\r\n
\r\nIndividuals receiving the second dosage of Moderna vaccine must also present their COVID-19 vaccination record at the door.\r\n
\r\nThe clinic will offer two forms of vaccine, according to HPS District Nurse Renee Sells, RN.\r\n
\r\n“We will offer the Moderna for those who need the first or second vaccine, or the Johnson and Johnson which is one and done,” Sells said. “The vaccines will be offered to anyone age 18 or older.”\r\n
\r\nWhile the Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16-year old children, Sells said the HPS has not acquired any of that variety of vaccine.\r\n
\r\nSells said there is no “out of pocket” cost for either vaccine. Wheelchair service will be available at the door of the MAC center.\r\n
\r\nCOVID-19 protocols will apply, including:\r\n
\r\n--Wear loose fitting shirt or blouse for easy access to upper arm.\r\n
\r\n--Wear a face mask.\r\n
\r\n--Observe social distancing.\r\n
\r\n--Be prepared to remain on site for 20 minutes after vaccination.\r\n
\r\n“There will be Spanish translators on site to assist with check in,” Sells said.\r\n
\r\nParking at HHS will be in designated areas at the north side of the South Main Street entrance.\r\n
\r\nThe HPS-ExpressRx partnership has provided 997 total vaccine doses in HPS and public clinics to date. Questions should be directed to Sells at 870-777-3451, ext. 612.\r\n
