🎉📸🎥 Big news from HHS SkillsUSA! This week, our students attended the SkillsUSA State Championships and proudly represented Hope High School in Video News Production (James & Priscilla Artis, Ella Laffery, Ty’resa Nabors) and Photography (Payton Norman and Kylen Bittle). This was the first time ever that HHS students competed in these categories — and we couldn’t be more proud! While we didn’t place this year, the experience was incredibly valuable. Our students learned so much about the competition process, industry standards, and teamwork — and they’re already brainstorming big ideas to grow and strengthen our program next year. The energy on the ride home from the closing ceremonies was full of excitement, reflection, and plans for the future. 🚍💡 SkillsUSA is a nationwide organization that empowers over 442,000 career and technical education students and teachers. It helps students develop hands-on skills in over 130 different career fields — from 3D animation to welding — while also building crucial life and workplace skills like leadership, communication, and professionalism. 💼🛠️ We’re so proud of our students for stepping up, trying something new, and showing true Bobcat spirit. Here's to even more growth and success in the future! 💙🐾 #HHSSkillsUSA #SkillsUSA #CareerReady #BobcatPride #CTE #StudentSuccess #FutureLeaders #HopeForTheFuture #ALLIN

Our Work-Based Learning Opportunities Leading to Future Employment program has been spreading joy and gratitude twice a week by passing out treats and sweets as a token of appreciation to our staff members! But it’s more than that. The students are gaining real world experience through hands on learning that includes: ✅ Managing inventory ✅ Understanding supply and demand ✅ Practicing product presentation and customer service We’re proud of their growth and commitment on this project! This also would not be possible without the help of our paras who assist the students. If you’d like to support the program by helping us restock, please reach out to: Mr. Burton – jeffery.burton@hpsdistrict.org Mrs. Reese – lisa.reese@hpsdistrict.org
