Our seventh grade band students from Yerger had a great time on their field trip to the Perot Theater. They watched Back to the Future with a full live orchestra, and it was an amazing experience. It gave our students the chance to see music in action at a professional level and opened their eyes to possible future careers in the world of music.

Yerger EAST students had a pop in visit from a few encouraging staff members as preparations are being made for Yerger's participation in Hope's Annual Christmas parade. The students collaborated in each of the six EAST classes to come up with an overall design to represent this year's theme, "A Holly Jolly Game Night". There is a lot of hard work, dedication, hands on learning, and student engagement going into to this float. If anyone has any donations of slightly used Christmas decorations, crafting supplies, or parade candy that could possibly benefit Yerger's float, please feel free to reach out to the YMS EAST program. Some of the best support could be showing up for the parade or even dropping a kind word for our students in the comments. The Chamber of Commerce hosted community Christmas parade will be held downtown December 1st. Hope to see you there!

YMS 8th grade EAST students Naomi Basilio and Jonathan Nava sharpened their problem solving , designing process, and 3D printing skills while working on a recent project. Hope YMS band directors inquired if EAST could help with a broken instrument case handle. Naomi and Jonathan came to the rescue as they designed, redesigned, printed and tested various handles in 3D. Through the process, they were determined and diligent to succeed. Succeed...indeed they did. Congratulations Naomi and Jonathan....job well done!!
