The students will be caroling and there will be activities to make Christmas stockings, santa hats, gingerbread houses and Christmas ornaments. Recently, Dr. Crossley served as "Super Sub" at YMS in Mekicia Henry's 8th grade STAR Academy English class! Each semester, Dr. Crossley is the Superintendent Substitute (aka "Super Sub") for certified or classified staff at Hope Public Schools. He is given lesson plans, work orders, or other related information and takes over the position for half a day. HPS superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley was the sub for the day at Yerger Middle School. Dr. Crossley took over Mrs. Mekecia Henry's 8th grade STAR Academy English class. The students had a great experience with Dr. Crossley as the substitute. He was able to teach an engaging lesson and continue the exciting rotations in Mrs. Henry's English stations.

HPS School Resource Officer Corporal Justin Dean stopped by to offer support to Yerger Middle School students as they make preparations for the Christmas parade. Corp. Dean gave a brief lesson on locating the extra fuse in Christmas lights and detecting signs of a shorted out bulb. The students were able to engage in the analyzing of stringed lights.

REMEMBER: From November 28 through December 7, YOU can help us STUFF THE BUS! We’re collecting non-perishable food items and other necessities for transitional students and their families in Hope Public Schools. Transitional families are those who are between housing locations and/or who may be suffering from a lack of permanent accommodations. Bring your items to ANY campus and drop them off at the campus main office. On December 8, Hope Public Schools will take all the donations and STUFF THE BUS! Let’s fill a busload of supplies for our students and families! These one-pager projects allow students to flex thier artistic muscles while still showing thier mastery of the content. The Science Fair is open to all students, and the Magnet Team will help students every step of the way!
