Hope Academy of Public Service

We would like to thank the Agri teachers and students at Hope High for making a new bench for our school garden. They did an outstanding job! Mr. Burg and the students in our after-school magnet club have worked diligently on our winter garden. Students will get a chance to taste test cabbage and broccoli from the garden during lunch in the cafeteria.

For the Month of January, we will be back in business on the 3rd of Jan 2024. There will be no provider Jan. 3 to Jan. 6th. We can still schedule appointments and administer shots. As always if our patients need immediate medical attention Hope Family Center can assist them their number is 870-777-8420

Before the break, HAPS Staff had fun celebrating the holiday, getting ready for the break!

Congratulations to Mayra Garcia! She recently finished her Bachelors in Liberal Studies (with a concentration in education) from Reach University. She shares that she has also "booked her Middle School Mathematics Praxis for January 2024." She hopes to enroll in the ArPEP program to finish her licensure. "I am so excited to finally reach a new milestone in my career and pray I am the best teacher for my future students," she said.

The hard work and dedication of Mrs. Duncan’s fifth and sixth-grade students have brought joy and warmth to the residents of Heather Manor Nursing Home by handcrafting hats, scarves, coloring cards, and goodie bags for more than 80 stuffed animals. We want to extend my sincere gratitude to Holiday Inn Express for their generous donation towards the goodie bags, which has added immense value to this project. Your support has made a significant difference in spreading happiness and love during the holiday season. Thank you so much!

More news from GT! Mr. Kenneth Stewart shares, "On Tuesday December 12, 2023 the 5th and 6th grade chess team competed in the southwest co-op chess tournament. We are proud of our students for their participation. The students represented Beryl Henry and HAPS schools."

From Jr High GT Coordinator, Mr. Kenneth Stewart, "On Tuesday December 12, 2023, the 7th grade quiz bowl team won second place in the Genoa quiz bowl tournament. Students on the quiz bowl team consisted of Zack Ross, Aniyah Lloyd, Jaydan Martinez, Zadrian Scott, Sidnee Wade, Kaden Smith, Xander Coronada, Rey Mendoza, David Artis, and Lebron Thomas. The students are members of Yerger and HAPS schools. "

GT Students from Yerger and HAPS taking part in the Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative Rubiks Cube competition!

Student Early Dismissal Information: Students will have early dismissal next week. Students will leave early Monday - Wednesday, December 18-20. Clinton Primary will dismiss at 1pm and all other campuses will dismiss at 1:20pm. Any questions should be directed to the campus main office.

There is no Medical Provider today (December 12). The Nurse and Provider are attending a last minute providers meeting this afternoon.

The Hope Public Schools band program will have our annual Christmas Concert at Hempstead Hall on Tuesday 12-12-2023. The concert starts at 6:00! We will have these groups performing: 6th grade band YMS 7th grade band HAPS 7th grade band 8th grade band High School band We look forward to seeing you all there!
