Dear parents, This letter is to inform you that our 7th grade football athletes will begin practicing after school at Yerger starting this Tuesday September 3rd at 5:30pm. Due to the lack of time that we have with our 7th graders in their 1st period class, we decided to bring them back two days a week until the season begins and then once a week for the improvement of our student athletes. 7th grade skill development is vital to building a great football program. Thank you for supporting your student and the program. Practice will last for 1 hour and 15 minutes. We are trying to get all our 7th grade athletes current athletic physical so we can have everyone at practice on Tuesday. A practice schedule, football schedule, will be provided. Practice Days will then be every Wednesday after school for the remainder of the season. Starting at 5:30pm. All junior high football players will get in free on Thursday and Friday night’s for games.

Tennis results are in from Monday's matches at Arkadelphia! In Girls singles action, Monica Bobo won 8-2, Jamie Young won 8-6, and Grace Easterling won 6-1. Unfortunately, Lydia Bobo lost 2-8 and Ella Lafferty lost 1-6. Girls Doubles saw Kennedy Phillips and Madison Phillips win 8-4. Mykah Bradley and Katie-Ella Webster won their set 8-1. Aracely Garcia and Kenia Pardo lost 0-6. In Boys' Singles, Davis Johnson won 8-6 and Jaden Rivera won 8-2. Erick Salazar lost 2-8 and Riley Bramlett lost 8-8 in an unfortunate 6-7 tiebreaker. Let's talk about EAST! EAST is an amazing opportunity for your child (at every Hope Public Schools campus) to learn how to solve problems in our school and community using technology and community resources! When they are not working on projects (solving problems), they are learning new technology, helping their peers, meeting with community partners, or learning basic skills such as sending an email. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing things students (3rd grade through 12th) are doing in Hope, AR!

Mrs. Lewis's first grade class enjoyed using flashlights to read text in the dark this morning. Thanks to generous donations, Mrs. Lewis was able to get her Donor's Choose project fully funded. Students were able to enjoy the comfort of the cushioned seats to sit on while reading. Our class is fostering a community of literacy rich readers! This is a NEW class at YMS to teach students the instruments of the rhythm section. Any student can join, even if they aren’t in band!
