Mr. Bradford taught Mrs. Bailey’s class about recorders. The recorder is a woodwind instrument that has remained unchanged throughout history. It uses a whistle mouthpiece. There are generally four types of recorders: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. As you can see, the students had a great time showing off their newly-learned skills! #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture 🎼🎵🪈

“A Barnyard Musical” directed by CPS’s own Mr. Tristan McMahan (Music teacher), on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2PM in the CPS cafeteria. Our students put in a TON of fabulous work and dedication to create a fun and unforgettable experience!
“A Barnyard Moosical” was written by Michael and Jill Gallina, and featured singing and dancing goats, pigs, chickens, and cows. The audience was delighted and many were seen dancing along to the music!
Special thanks to Anna Waller for providing the photos and description. #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture

Students learned how to make different sounds and created their own rhythms. The students also learned about how to properly grip a drumstick. Students copied rhythms then created their own rhythms. #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture

Our Work-Based Learning Opportunities Leading to Future Employment program has been spreading joy and gratitude twice a week by passing out treats and sweets as a token of appreciation to our staff members!
But it’s more than that. The students are gaining real world experience through hands on learning that includes:
✅ Managing inventory
✅ Understanding supply and demand
✅ Practicing product presentation and customer service
We’re proud of their growth and commitment on this project! This also would not be possible without the help of our paras who assist the students.
If you’d like to support the program by helping us restock, please reach out to:
Mr. Burton – jeffery.burton@hpsdistrict.org
Mrs. Reese – lisa.reese@hpsdistrict.org

REMINDER: All campuses will be closed on Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025. Enjoy the long weekend!
