At Hope High School, Mrs. Ewing has jumped in head-first to make Digital Cinema an incredible course for our students. Magnet has huge plans for a full-scale Bobcat Broadcasting program. Until the studio is installed, Mrs. Ewing's classes are preparing for their upcoming production roles by launching an all new student newspaper! Students will take turns editing, filming, writing, interviewing and reporting news from their own perspectives, all while using various digital and print mediums. More information will be released soon about this awesome project. #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture

Dr. Crossley read "The King of Kindergarten" to Ms. Irvin's class today! He said, "The students were great and asked wonderful questions!" #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture

Sarah Elizabeth Guevara, recently with ABC and now with MSNBC from Washington DC, talks with Mr. Herron's Broadcasting students at HAPS about reporting, the importance of keeping historical figures, such as MLK, in the public mind and other broadcasting topics.
She then had the students work on camera skills such as angles, action/reaction, face placement within a shot, and storyboarding. The students then pretended to argue over a small item in order to discuss shot placement, storytelling, and the creative process.
Students learned how to improve and hone their skills for future projects in the Broadcasting class. This was such a cool, hands-on, real-world experience!

According to the Office for Education Policy, "Awards are based on the 2023 content growth score calculated by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. These growth scores reflect how much students at the school improved from 2022 compared to how much they were expected to grow considering prior achievement. We recognize schools based on Overall growth, as well as for growth in Math and English Language Arts separately."
