Hope High School students taking part in OBU Talent Search attended Career & College Day at OBU and HSU. There were over 25 employers in the building for the students to visit with. Students enjoyed visiting the Workforce Mobile Truck. The students took part in an activity allowing them to choose a career they would like to pursue which provided them with an income and expenses. Some students said," I must choose another career so I can afford to life". The tour at HSU was great with lots of walking and information. Each student came back with lots of valuable information on how to enter the workforce, how to enter college, and a t-shirt from HSU. Lunch was provided by OBU on their campus. It was a great opportunity and eye opener for the students!

Head to Prescott to watch Hope High School compete in the Wolf Relays today (March 6)!

Last week, Discovery Learning took place on the HHS campus. It was a week of building relationships. Students visited teachers' classes and signed up for their fun learning. This presented an opportunity for the teachers to get to know the students as well as students getting to know teachers. Sheila Hopson, Magnet Coordinator on the campus, also had students sign up and help capture the photos used in this post! The day was filled with making gifts for teachers, painting with a twist, mind games, the forge, students completing FAFSA , nail tech, and scholarships and lots more! #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture

At HAPS, our Magnet Discovery Learning day was filled with a variety of fun and creative activities. Students explored candle making, crafted unique cross-stitch jewelry, and learned the art of line dancing. They also got artistic with rock painting and 3D printing creations. For those who loved to sing, karaoke was a hit, while others challenged themselves with puzzles and diamond painting. It was a day full of hands-on experiences, teamwork, and creative expression!

Jonathan Bradford and Tristan McMahan took two fourth grade classes to Texarkana’s Perot Theater’s presentation of Carnegie Hall’s Link up program. Mrs. Bush’s and Mrs. Waggoner’s class were in attendance.
Carnegie Hall’s link up program is an interactive curriculum that introduces students to the orchestra. Last Year’s program was “The Orchestra Rocks.” This year’s focus was “The Orchestra Swings.”
This musical educational program allows students to sing or play. A curriculum is provided in advance to prepare the students for this program. Special thanks to the TSO Symphony, R. Gray, the Magnet Program (team) Dr. Duke and Zac Hoglund. Special thanks to Dr. Jonathan Crossley for bringing this program to our attention last year.

Recently, Jeremiah Humphrey from United Welding Institute in Pottsville visited Hope High to talk about their welding program, and to demonstrate the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process. Hope High School recently purchased four TIG Master Pro TIG Torches so our students may be exposed to this welding process, and be better prepared to further their experience, and elevate them to bigger and better things. #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture
