Let's talk about EAST! EAST is an amazing opportunity for your child (at every Hope Public Schools campus) to learn how to solve problems in our school and community using technology and community resources! When they are not working on projects (solving problems), they are learning new technology, helping their peers, meeting with community partners, or learning basic skills such as sending an email. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing things students (3rd grade through 12th) are doing in Hope, AR!

There will be a called board meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 5pm in the Administration Building. The agenda is as follows: (1) Call to Order (2) Personnel (3) Other (3.a) Student Hearing (4) Adjournment. The public is invited to attend.

Mrs. Lewis's first grade class enjoyed using flashlights to read text in the dark this morning. Thanks to generous donations, Mrs. Lewis was able to get her Donor's Choose project fully funded. Students were able to enjoy the comfort of the cushioned seats to sit on while reading. Our class is fostering a community of literacy rich readers! Grace Life Fellowship made a generous donation of food to the CPS food pantry. Grace Life has been graciously supporting our efforts to feed and clothe our students since the beginning, in 2019, of the food pantry and clothes closet. This is a NEW class at YMS to teach students the instruments of the rhythm section. Any student can join, even if they aren’t in band! Results from Thursday's Bobcats tennis matches against Texarkana are in! In girls singles action, Monica Bobo won 8-0, Grace Easterling lost 8-7, Lydia Bobo won 8-0, Katie Webster won 8-3, Mykah Bradley won 8-0 and Jamie Young won 8-0. The girls took a hit in doubles: Lydia Bobo & Katie Webster lost 8-3 and Mykah Bradley & Jamie Young lost 8-4. Boys singles had mixed results as Erick Salazar won 8-7 in a tiebreaker, Riley Bramlett lost 8-1, Davis Johnson won 8-6 and Jaden Rivera lost 1-8. In doubles matches, Erick Salazar & James Artis lost 2-8 and Riley Bramlett & Davis Johnson lost 1-8. Next tennis action will be Monday, August 19 at DeQueen. GO BOBCATS!

Students in Mrs. Gulley's first-grade class began their first unit lesson about plant and animal life cycles and how they change and grow. The first animal on the list was the mountain gorilla. There were many things we learned about them, including where they lived and what they ate. As a follow-up to the lesson, the students were shown a video to enhance their understanding of the lesson concepts.
