Yerger Middle School’s Project Lead The Way (PLTW) program, led by Matthew Molloy and Eddra Phillips, received the prestigious 2024 Distinguished Program Award from PLTW!
PLTW is a non-profit organization focused on STEAM education, offering students hands-on, project-based courses that foster critical skills like problem-solving, creative thinking, collaboration, and communication.
Through immersive, real-world challenges, students tap into their creativity and stretch their imaginations, all while gaining valuable insight into careers in engineering, medicine, robotics, and more.
By engaging in real-life scenarios and solving complex problems, Yerger students step into the shoes of professionals—like engineers and medical detectives—gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them. This award recognizes Yerger’s commitment to empowering students, increasing access to STEAM education, and fostering high levels of engagement and achievement.
PLTW courses at Yerger include exciting programs such as Medical Detectives, Flight & Space, and Automation & Robotics, where students take charge of their learning and prepare for future careers in some of the most dynamic fields.

Mr. Bradford taught Mrs. Bailey’s class about recorders. The recorder is a woodwind instrument that has remained unchanged throughout history. It uses a whistle mouthpiece. There are generally four types of recorders: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. As you can see, the students had a great time showing off their newly-learned skills! #GoBobcats #ALLIN #HopeForTheFuture 🎼🎵🪈
